It started with a simple idea: showcase the breathtaking azalea blooms that paint Wilmington in brilliant colors each spring. What began as garden tours has grown into a five-day celebration that draws over 100,000 visitors from across the country.
But the festival has never lost sight of what matters most — bringing people together. It's the little girl crowned as Junior Azalea Princess, beaming with pride. The local potter whose pottery sells out by noon on Saturday. The grandmother who's attended every single festival for 40 years.
